Business Lessons We Can Learn From NBA Champions 2011

Business Lessons We Can Learn From NBA Champions 2011
Last night, while watching the Dallas Mavericks to their first NBA championship against the preseason favorite and the heat of great prestige in Miami, I began to think about the business lessons can be learned from this great achievement.

Persistence

Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry have only a remnant of the team from Dallas, who lost for the same team in Miami 5 years ago. They insisted and eventually realized that the "hard work will really pay." Management has also shown some patience and perseverance to keep my players at the same time, minor changes to the roster, staff. The world of business is to remember this when they hit a roadblock, the fourth successful or not. To move forward and work as hard as possible.

Teamwork

Mavericks have shown that a team that works together is more than three standout individuals. Henry Ford said, "is the first meeting. Staying together is progress. One is a success." This could not be more real than what happened in Game 6 Deshawn Stevenson, who was a starter all season and the playoffs have been asked to come off the bench in favor of another teammate. Deshawn graciously accepted his role and was a huge game, while coming off the bench without a pout, or set himself before the team goals. This is a good lesson for all employees, especially in today's economy. Sometimes you have to take a step back to make a leap in your career.

Humility

Mark Cuban became famous as the owner of the NBA has always been big, brash, and not too concerned about what others thought of him, including NBA Commissioner David Stern. This marks the entire playoff series was calm, discreet, and has shown great humility. Once you have the opportunity to celebrate he has decided to get the trophy awarded to Donald Carter, the original owner of the Mavericks. This was a reward for starting and owning Mavericks in more than 31 years. This is the new humble Mark Cuban - who is also a champion of the NBA, and nobody can take away.

Agility / Flexibility

To play multiple positions and the flexibility to change or adapt to different scenarios is a key element in both sports and business. The Mavericks have not been satisfied with just winning the Western Conference, they had an ultimate goal, and did not stop until it is finished. Successful company must also have goals, both short and long term. Companies should also have the opportunity to change course if necessary similar to what the Mavericks were changing their starting lineup in the middle of the series.

There is no doubt that the NBA has been very successful post-season and I'm sure the ratings reflect this TV. Congratulations to both teams to reach the final. I'm sure this is not the last we hear Dwayne Wade, LeBron James and Chris nonsense, and the rest of the Heat players.
