What Is The Designation Of Energy Professional Risks For Me To Advance My Career?

What Is The Designation Of Energy Professional Risks For Me To Advance My Career?
A common question I receive in email is as follows: "I work in the energy industry What is the ERP (Energy Risk Professional) designation by me to advance my career.?"

It's an obvious question often heard marketers of energy, energy traders, engineers and risk management of energy. The term ERP is not well known yet, but that could change soon. While the ERP (short for "Energy Risk Professional") are relatively new, it stands on solid foundation approved by GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals) and API (American Petroleum Institute). There are about 500 charterholders ERP far (from 2010), and their number is expected to grow very quickly. The success rate of ERP testing was approximately 35% in 2010, so it's certainly not a name you just purchase by registering for the exam. The term ERP can be achieved by passing an examination held in May and November of each year, but that could change in the future, as was the case recently with the FRM designation (abbreviation for the Financial Risk Manager, also GARP), which now spans two exams.

Time to get the name of ERP is still relatively short with a manageable effort at the moment.

After having passed the examination of ERP on the first floor, I can say that the material is too difficult. You should, however, take seriously their preparation for the test: Start at least six months before the test with the required reading materials, and finished reading and summarizing papers at least two months before the test, enough time to check everything and practical tests.

I definitely think more about the ERP as your resume if you work in the energy sector. Even if your finance-related areas, I advise you to consider examination. Effort is not as big as other names such as CFA, FRM or Caia, but will still get the approval of GARP, and the API. If you can show potential employers that you are willing to improve your skills, always sends a positive signal that separates you from the herd. Employers to reward good performance, so be prepared for professional situation will improve soon for any professional.

If you have taken the decision to enroll ERP examination, I congratulate you. This is your first step to quality in the field of risk management and more energy. I wish you all the best for your exam preparation on its way to becoming a professional Energy Risk!
